A quiet badge on cards nobody has touched — orange after 7 days, red after 14. Pick the colours, measure from creation or last activity, skip the lists that should stay clean, and read the board’s stale count off one button.
Three tiers in Trello’s own badge colours, and the count of stale cards on the board button.
Four short clips from a real Trello board: set the tiers, watch the badges land, read the stale count, and leave a list alone.
Open Card Age from its board button, choose whether age counts from the last activity or from the day the card was made, and give each tier its days and colour. Save, and every card on the board gets its badge.
A card younger than the lowest tier carries nothing. Past it, the badge counts the days and goes from yellow to orange to red while the card keeps sitting.
The board button says how many cards are past stale. Open one, and Created and Last activity sit at the top of the back.
Tick a list under Never badge cards in, and its cards carry no badge, however old they get.
Aging, warn and stale, each with its own day count and a colour from Trello’s badge palette. Aging starts switched off — turn it on when you want an earlier nudge.
One button reads “Card Age · 2 stale” at board load, and opens the settings popup. Zero stale isn’t news, so it just reads Card Age.
Count from the last comment, move or edit, or from the day the card was created — whichever your board treats as the clock that matters.
Tick Backlog, Done, or anything else that’s meant to sit still, and cards there stay clean — no matter how old they get.
Both dates at the top of every card — no scrolling through the activity feed to work out when things went quiet.
The card’s own id carries its creation time, so the age is computed right in your browser. No account, no data sent anywhere — which is also why it can stay free.
Short answers about installing it, the tiers and colours, and where the dates come from.
Email supportHead to the Trello Power-Up Marketplace, search for “Card Age” and click Add. The settings popup opens on enable with the defaults already filled in — press Save and the badges are live. There is no authorization step and no account to create.
By default the badge counts full days since the card’s last activity — any comment, move or edit resets it. Switch “Measure age from” to card creation and it counts from the day the card was made instead. Either way the Created date on the card back is read from the card’s own Trello id, which carries its creation time.
Yes — open the Power-Up’s settings from the board menu or the board button at any time. Each of the three tiers takes a day count and a colour from Trello’s badge palette. The numbers have to climb (aging fewer days than warn, warn fewer than stale), and aging set to 0 turns that tier off.
Tick them under “Never badge cards in” in the settings popup. Cards in those lists carry no badge however old they get, and they’re left out of the stale count on the board button — handy for a Backlog or a Done list that is supposed to sit still.
Yes. Tiers, colours, the age source and the skipped lists are all stored on the board and shared by every member, so a card that reads red for you reads red for everyone. Change the settings once and the whole board follows.
Install Card Age and let the board tell you where the work stopped.
